Why paying for volunteering?

Kenya Xperience! (KX!) is a professional organization that puts everything in place to ensure that
o    volunteers have a great Kenya Xperience
o    that students can do an internship that meets all requirements
o    volunteers’ input in the projects is as useful and sustainable as can be

Kenya Xperience! takes pride in informing the participants and projects well, to guide and visit volunteers during their placement, to be always available for volunteers and projects when needed and also to extend its support of the projects when there are no volunteers. All this costs time and money. That is why we need to charge you a € 150,- basic fee per participant. This enables us to deliver the services that we think are necessary to give you your best possible Kenya Xperience!.
The Kenya Xperience! team is:
o    a volunteer director
o    an employed programme coordinator
o    one free lancer

All the KX! projects struggle for money (that is exactly the reason why we should work with them)  and they rely on donors/well wishers who give funding for programme related costs. Most of the projects provide their volunteers with lunch. This is what they can afford and what they can justify to their donors.
In the meantime Kenya Xperience! and the projects look for cheap and safe accommodation for its volunteers.
